W5: Scrum & Prototype

This week we dealt with project management tools and scrumming.

For our project, we decided to use the tool Jira from Atlassian.

We’ve also created our first sprint , which you can see on our Jira scrumboard or on the screenshot below. Here you can see the actual status of our sprint.

s

The contains 5 basic tasks, assigned to a member of our team for processing.

Therefore we also defined our sprint length to 2 weeks.

We’ve also uploaded our first prototype of the NeCo App this week. You may look into it on our GitHub repository. The screenshot might give you a feeling, of how the app will look like.

You can find our prototype here

And our Scrumboard here

If you have any ideas or thougts on our process on the project, feel free to comment here.

  1. Hey there,

I am impressed by your work, it is only the 5th week and you already have a prototype on hand!
The issues and the sprint you created are fine. You already estimated them and assigned them, which is good too.
How did you estimate the Issues? 2h seems to be a very tight estimation for creating a server prototype.
I noted that your Burndown chart looks a bit weird (https://jiratinf16b4.it.dh-karlsruhe.de:8443/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=15&projectKey=NECO&view=reporting&chart=burndownChart&sprint=19), is that JIRAs fault?

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    1. Hi Thomas,
thanks for your compliment. This was our first try with Jira, so we didn’t have a feeling of estimation yet, but we readjusted them.
Our burndown chart indeed looks weird, because this is rather an experimental sprint, I’m sure it will look better in future sprints.

  2. Hey NeCo-Project,

your prototyp and sprint look very good.
But it would be nice if you could add a picture of your Burn-Down Chart and also add a link to it..
Moreover it would be nice if you make your sprint picture clickable.

    Best regards,

    1. Hey Team Superwoman,
thanks for your good ideas. As our burn down chart changes rather fast over time, we decided not to post a picture of it. For your idea with the clickable picture, we added a link to the sprint, to see it in detail.
